The First Post

I just started my blog up, so I figured I'd put up some studies I've been doing, following the method provided by John K of Ren and Stimpy fame. Here they are:

Sorry if they appear too bright, I'll have to fix the scanner.

This dogs muzzle was hard as heck.

I had fun doing this one above.

  1. Getting better all the time, still need to round out the cuteness and push the contrast more. The shapes are tending to look the same. Construction is your friend so use it well. And go for the exaggeration.

  2. Page two above looks good with the close up and the tongue hanging. Good construction.

  4. Despite how bright the top drawings are this is pretty good. I to have been studying MGM mostly Preston Blair. I couldn't agree with you more that today's young artists need to follow more in the footsteps of oldschool artists and less on other things just because their popular.

  5. Hey, i've been trying to study this dog as well. You are right his muzzle is hard as hell to draw sometimes. Especially when its looking straight on though. Nice job though. Keep it up.
